Folk Music

Hearts nestled in the countryside
awaken and dance to the rhythm of the fiddle.
Rusty and raw.
Yet, polished enough
to steady the parting barn doors.
Rough hums start a fire.
Subtle and soft,
yet the sonnet roars.
Finding a home in the solitude.

This piece was published in the Fall 2020 Issue of Jenny Magazine, a production of the Youngstown Ohio University Student Literary Arts Association.
