Summertime

Creek water trickles
as the birds whistle.
Foxes lie in fields to rest
summer at its crest.
Fireflies dance atop the corn
perennials bloom, now reborn.
Drops of honey dance on my tongue,
deer lead their curious young.
Golden sun hums down,
beat of my hometown.
